Beloniformes (1)

General description
Needle fishes or Beloniformes belong to the order of "Teleostei". All are surface fish to find mainly near the surface. They include the flying fish, rice, fish, Halfbeak, garfish and mackerel pike. In total there are 36 genera with about 260 species. All are Carnivore and live mostly of planktonic cancer animals, insects and small fish.
