Blennies (43)

General descriptionThe group of Blennies include 300 species in 60 genera. Especially interesting for tanks are mainly two genera: Salarias and Ecsenius. They are also the main imports. Both are excellent algae devourers. The best is Salarias fasciatus. Be careful with Ecsenius if you are cultivating stony corals. Sometimes they pick so hard at the coral polyps that the corals will be damaged and die. An exception is E. midas, which feed on plankton.
