Husbandry

Marsupenaeus japonicus ist ein Lessepsscher Migrant, der aus dem Indopazifik durch das Rote Meer über den Suez-Kanal in das Mittelmeer eingezogen ist.

Diese sehr große Garnele versteckt sich tagsüber im Bodensubstrat und geht nachts auf Jagd, wobei sie kleine Knochen- und Knorpelfische fängt und verspeist.

Die Kuruma-Garnele ist heute eine sehr begehrte Speisegarnele, die im großen Stil gezüchtet wird.
