Husbandry

Desmonema glaciale Larson,1986

Desmonema glaciale is a giant medusa of Antarctic waters. This jelly fish is very large in size(1,20 m and more in bell). The tentacles are few in number and cordlike.

Desmonema glaciale is associated with hyperiid amphiods. Hyperiid amphipod is a suborder of amphipods with large eyes. They are parasites or predators of salps and jellyfish in the plankton.
