Ein anspruchsloser, wunderschöner Seeigel. Ich habe selbst vor vielen Jahren einen lebenden Feuerseeigel im Aquarium in die Hand genommen, da ich noch nichts über deren Gift wusste. Allerdings empfand ich das Gift trotz vieler Einstiche in der Hand als eher harmlos, vergleichbar mit einem Diademseeigel. Mit möglichst heißem Wasser lässt sich das Gift gut neutralisieren.
