Hydrozoanthus sils, a new species from the West Pacific living in association with Plumularia hydroids. This species grows epizoically.
Hydrozoanthus sils is ‘epizootic’, that means merely that these zoanthids develop on high of different creatures, notably gorgonians and particularly hydroids. The newly described Hydrozoanthus sils is a zoanthid that has to develop on the construction created by feather like hydroids. When the hydroid is absolutely encrusted the small polyped pink bodied Hydrozoanthus sils appears to be like extra like a gorgonian than a zoanthid.
