Wir haben daher einen der führenden Weichkorallen-Spezialisten, Prof. Dr. Yehuda Benayahu, Israel, angeschrieben und höflich um Zusendung der Beschreibung gebeten.
Lobophytum rigidum findet kurz Erwähnung in dem wissenschaftlichen Aufsatz "The Octocorals of Dongsha Atoll (South China Sea): An Iterative Approach to Species Identification Using Classical Taxonomy and Molecular Barcodes", allerdings fehlen exakte Daten, u.a. zur Größe der Weichkorallen.
