Astrospartus mediterraneus has five arms, each branched. This basket star clings to the branches of gorgonians. Feeds at night. The body has a diameter of 8 cm, the opening arms 80 cm.
This basket star generally found on branches of Paramuricea clavata, Eunicella singularis or on sponges.
