Gymnodoris ceylonica has a translucent white body with many small orange bright spots. It has translucent orange-lined white gills, orange rhinophores and a white translucent foot which is orange edged.

Gymnodoris ceylonica feeds on Sothe sea slugs.One of the common prey items of Gymnodoris ceylonica is the sea hare Stylocheilus striatus.
