Info

Umimayanthus chanpuru Montenegro, Sinniger & Reimer, 2015

A new species in the sponge-Parazoanthidae association in southern Japan. The polyps are joined by a thin layer of tissue called coenenchyme.

Umimayanthus spp. are only found associated to sponges, and have a coenenchyme much less developed than Parazoanthus.
