Neothyonidium dearmatum is a small, coastal sea cucumber that lives in shell sand, shell mud, and coarse sandy bottoms.

This sea cucumber feeds by filtering the water column with its crown of tentacles, bringing each arm into its mouth in turn to carry food particles.
Neothyonidium dearmatum is found mainly in the waters and New Zealand and around the Australian state of Victoria.
