Info
Cladiella kashmani can easily be compared to Cladiella australis, but without the elongated, finger-like lobes. which are shaped like fingers.
The lobes of Cladiella kashmani are often larger and laterally flattened, roundish, or irregularly shaped.
Colonies may form as large encrusting carpets that grow 1 - 2 meters tall.
Unfortunately, the initial description, "Corals of the south-west Indian Ocean III. Alcyonacea (Octocorallia) from Bazaruto Island, Mozambique, with a redescription of Cladiella australis (Macfadyen 1936) and description of Cladiella kashmani spec. nov." is not available as either a pdf or a book, so there is unfortunately not much more to report on the coral currently.
Naming:
The species name "kashmani" was chosen in honor of Prof. Yoel Kashman, Tel Aviv University.
