Info

Anthopleura krebsi is a very small sea anemone that attaches itself to boulders, sand grains and small shells as well as crustacean shells.
The sea anemone has between 24 - 48 tentacles, it lives by the energy provided to it by the embedded zooxanthellae, but also captures fine zooplankton for food.

The oral disc of the actinie is brick colored, the lateral pores are red, the tentacles are yellow with white rings.

The actinie was dedicated to M. Krebs, a distinguished naturalist residing in St.-Thomas.
