Info
Cynoglossus bilineatus is a small sole that is both widespread and caught on a large scale (between 500 and 1000 tons per year) by countries such as Bangladesh and India and sold at regional fish markets.
This does not include the so-called by-catch, which is also landed when other species are caught.
The sole feeds on various benthic invertebrates.
There is no known experience of keeping them in larger saltwater aquaria, but as many typical co-inhabitants are on the sole's menu, keeping them would not be recommended.
Synonyms:
Achirus bilineatus Lacepède, 1802
Arelia bilineata (Lacepède, 1802)
Arelia diplasios (Jordan & Evermann, 1902)
Arelia quadrilineata (Bleeker, 1851)
