Odontanthias rhodopeplus is an Anthias species that occurs at depths of around 300 meters and is therefore not only rarely seen, but can also only rarely be observed in a marine aquarium.

This deep-water bannerfish is a solitary fish that keeps its distance and does not gather in shoals.
Its dorsal fin has thread-like extensions and its body is colorful with pink and yellow patterns.
