Boodlea vanbosseae Reinbold, 1905
The marine green alga Boodlea vanbosseae is widespread in the tropical Indo-West Pacific. It was described by Reinbold (1905: 148) from Indonesia. Boodlea vanbosseae differs from other species in the genus by its coarse, irregularly branched filaments. In addition, the alga lacks crystalline calcium oxalate cell inclusions.
This fuzzy green algae occasionally appeared on lagoon peaks. It grows in the infralittoral edge area or in the infralittoral area, in coral reefs and in seagrass meadows. It forms matted cushions on exposed reef flats, sometimes even extensive mats.
