Info

This marine sponge is lamellar, leaf-like, and dark red to purple in color.

Algal turf had formed on the surface of two collected specimens.

Samples of Hemiasterella complicata have a micro-bristly surface and an elastic consistency.

Lat is mainly found along the east coast of Africa in the western Indian Ocean, but there are also radio messages from Indonesia, but unfortunately SeaLifeBase does not provide exact data.

It is known that marine sponges produce more body cells than they need for body structure; these cells serve as food for other marine animals.
