Characters: Polyps are circular or oval, up to 125 millimetres diameter and strongly arched. Septa are densely packed and straight and have small blunt teeth. The axial mouth is well defined and the outer surface is covered with small peripheral mouths separated by septa of variable length. There are no tentacular lobes.
Colour: Pale brown.
Habitat: Reef slopes and lagoons.
Abundance: Uncommon.
Similar species: Fungia scabra
