Ceraesignum maximum (G.B. Sowerby I, 1825)
Lives on plankton and detritus, which is captured with the help of mucus threads. Usually settles in corals. The worm snail has an operculum to close the tube opening.
The worm snail settles, for example, between crustose anemones, in Montipora and Acropora corals and fire corals (Millepora), as well as on solid substrates such as stones. Ceraesignum maximum can occur individually, but can also form dense colonies over time.
