Info

Clibanarius ambonensis Rahayu & Forest, 1993

Clibanarius ambonensis inhabits shallow coastal waters, estuaries and mangrove areas. It has so far only been found on sandy-muddy substrate, seagrass and rocks up to 1 meter deep and on mangrove roots.

Small specimens are difficult to distinguish from Clibanarius longitarsus and also resemble Clibanarius striolatus.

The species name “ambonensis” refers to the type locality of the Indonesian island of Ambon.
