The pictures by Dr. Dirk Schories show a dragonfish from Arctic waters, its eggs, and an Antarctic ribbonworm (Parborlasia corrugatus) feasting on the eggs.

The photos were taken in MacKellar Inlet, King George Island, Antarctica.

Eponymy: Jean-Baptiste Auguste Étienne Charcot (1867–1936) was a French scientist, physician, sportsman and leader of the French Antarctic Expedition (1904–1907
