Corophium volutator (Pallas, 1766)

This mud shrimp is white and brown in colour.Male are 9 mm in lenth with very long 2 Antennae.Female grows up to 6 mm in lenght with short 2 Antennae.Mud shrimps lives in the Wadden sea buried in mud, lives in a u-shaped tube.This species are filter feeders and feeds on plankton.

Corophium volutator occurs in fresh water,brackish water and in intertidal mud flats.
