Primovula formosa is a sea snail in the family Ovulidae, the ovulids, also known as cowry allies or false cowries.

Primovula formosa is a shell snail from the family Ovulidae, the so-called ice snails.
Snails in this family feed on various corals, each of which they specialize in.

They are usually perfectly matched in color to their host coral.
