Diaulula sandiegensis (J. G. Cooper, 1863)
The background colour can be white,yellow or a yellowish brown. On the mantle there are a few,sometimes more numerous, brown rings or irregular spots. This species is commonly known as Ringed Doris.
Sea slugs genus Diaulula have special tubercles which microscopic glass spicules on their tips(caryophyllidia).
Diaulula sandiegensis feeds on several sponges, include Haliclona permollis,Halichrondria, Axinella, Mycale, Terpios and Toxadocia
Very similar is Geitodoris heathi,is much smaller and has sometimes small dark spots,never rings.
