Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Hydnophora rigida are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Hydnophora rigida, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Hydnophora rigida, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Husbandry

Description: Colonies are composed of irregular, usually flattened branches with or without encrusting bases. Monticules are usually fused into ridges down branch sides. Main branches are 7-12 millimetres thick.
