The distribution Hemicorallium ducale extends in the eastern Pacific Ocean from Mexico, northern Baja Mexico, to at least the California Channel Islands.
The discovery of Hemicorallium ducale was one of the first finds of the genus Hemicorallium in North American waters, the first report of the deep water gorgonian was from the waters around Guadeloupe.
Hemicorallium ducale can not be assigned to a species, the color of Hemicorallium imperiale is extreme, according to the first description, the coral is dark-pink, rather reddish.
Unfortunately we don't know the size of the coral for the moment.
